High temp zip ties, also known as high temp cable ties, are commonly used bundling tools in industrial and outdoor high temperature environments. In high temperature working environments such as automotive engine compartments and outdoor solar panels, standard nylon zip ties tend to soften, break, or age prematurely when exposed to heat, creating safety hazards. Therefore, understanding the heat resistant characteristics of different materials of high temp cable tie is essential to selecting suitable and reliable products for high temperature applications.
Whether High temp zip ties are heat resistant mainly depends on the type of material they are made from.
By adding heat stabilizers to the nylon base resin (nylon66 is generally recommended), molecular chain scission under high temperature can be effectively suppressed, significantly delaying material oxidation and softening, thereby raising the long term service temperature to around 150°C.
Stainless steel cable ties rely on their stable austenitic or ferritic structures, offering excellent high temperature strength and oxidation resistance. They can maintain mechanical properties under continuous high temperatures, with service temperatures typically exceeding 400°C.
PEEK is a semi crystalline specialty engineering plastic. The aromatic ring structures in its molecular chains give the material extremely high thermal stability, allowing it to be used continuously above 250°C while retaining excellent mechanical strength.
Different materials used for fascette resistenti al calore show obvious differences in high temperature resistance. The table below compares the properties of several typical materials:
| Material Type | Continuous Use Temperature Range | Melting Point | Features & Typical Applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nylon6 fascetta per cavi | -20°C ~ +85°C | 220°C | Basic general purpose type, suitable for indoor wiring and bundling in conventional environments. |
| Nylon66 cable ties | -40°C ~ +85°C | 250°C | Balanced mechanical strength and electrical properties; the most commonly used type in industrial fields. |
| Nylon66 heat stabilised cable ties | -40°C ~ +125°C | 250°C | Better resistance to thermal aging; suitable for high temperature areas such as automotive engine compartments. |
| fascette resistenti ai raggi UV | -40°C ~ +105°C | 250°C | UV resistant and weatherable, designed for long term outdoor exposure. |
| PEEK heat proof cable ties | -60°C ~ +260°C | 343°C | Specialty engineering plastic for aerospace, medical and other extreme high temperature environments. |
| fascetta per cavi in acciaio inox | -80°C ~ +540°C | cURL Too many subrequests by single Worker invocation.
